QriosX

Grow your career through reflection, AI coaching and small daily wins

QriosX is my AI career growth companion for busy professionals. It combines AI coaching with grit-based challenges, AI journaling, reflections and personal learning dashboards. I designed and built it end to end, from the onboarding and home screen to the design system.

01The problem

What needed solving

Busy professionals want to grow, but courses get abandoned and goals fade once the week fills up. Growth needs reflection and steady practice, and most tools offer either content or a habit tracker, not both with a coach in the middle.

Who it’s for

  • Busy professionals

A few minutes of growth a day that fits around work.

  • Early-career people

A sense of where they stand and what to build next.

  • Self-directed learners

Structure and a nudge to keep going.

02The main flow

A day in QriosX

The moment in blue is the one the whole design is built around.

04Key decisions

Choices that shaped it

What I considered, what I chose, and why.

Decision 01

Start with where you are

Career tools often open with long goal-setting forms, which ask people to know their direction before they’ve thought about it.

Considered

A detailed onboarding form with goals, skills and timelines.

Chosen

Onboarding asks one question, which statement feels most like where you are in your career, and builds the first track from the answer.

Why it works

Recognising yourself in a statement is easier than writing a goal, and it gets people to their first step sooner.

Decision 02

Sprints over courses

Long courses lose busy people halfway through, and progress feels invisible for weeks.

Considered

A course library with modules and completion bars.

Chosen

The GRIT journey breaks growth into sprints made of small steps, with the next level always in view.

Why it works

Short sprints give regular wins and a clear finish line, which suits people who only have a few spare minutes a day.

Decision 03

Motivation without guilt

Streaks and leaderboards can motivate, but they also punish a missed day and push people away.

Considered

Strict daily streaks that reset to zero.

Chosen

I paired light gamification, levels and a leaderboard, with a journal and reflection that reward thinking, not just showing up.

Why it works

Reflection keeps the focus on the person’s own growth, so the game layer supports the habit instead of becoming the point.

What I learned

  1. 01

Building my own product made every trade-off real: each screen had to earn its place in a few spare minutes.

  2. 02

I came to see reflection as the feature that holds coaching and gamification together.
